So How Do You Write A Book? Hell If I Know

I never considered that I had enough readership in Jamaica to really make a big deal. It’s a country that wags its fingers at anything “unchristian” and goes ape when someone mentions homosexuality (it’s illegal here) as I’m secular and a supporter of gay rights. While I’m not fully convinced that I am wrong about my assumption, I am a bit more open to the possibility. Continue reading So How Do You Write A Book? Hell If I Know

So That Ugly Draft with That Elkanah Guy is Done!

Sooo this happened  last night. I was going to crop and cut because it’s messy and ugly but then I thought, nope. This is writerlife. This is how my process rolls. My initial thoughts are messy, imperfect, incomplete,…  I call this an Ugly First Draft (#UFD) for a reason. I don’t know when I’ll get around to first edits as I have other stories pending want to figure out this new series a bit more before I start the process of getting it out. But Elkanah’s story is out of my head. One more step before I can put it to bed completely until it’s time.

For those who try to read my not-so-great scratch 😁 it reads:

“Because of the losses he bared and what the pain of that made him do, maybe the stain on his soul from all of it was enough.  Maybe justice was the images he could never forget. Only Elkanah Bennett knew for sure and for Sheriff Thaddeus Johns, that was as good as it got.”

I am contemplating another story I’ve had on the back burner for a while… I’ll keep you posted!

Good Grief, I’m at it again!

Meet Elkanah…sorta

Took a bit of a break but this UFD (Ugly First Draft) of this story in a series I haven’t even fully discussed yet is pulling me. I was inspired by a song and this Orelle series was the perfect place to put it. I look forward to sharing this series with everyone around 2018 (yep, it’s like THAT. If I can do it sooner, I will) as I have to get moving in some other serious historical research that’s been waiting for me since late 2014! 😵 😵😵

Yeah, author problems, right? Well, back to it.
